Organisations should be aware of the tsunami of chronic disease they may be facing in the next 12 – 24 months – and the importance of working proactively to assist with prevention.  COVID-19 has acted as a catalyst for what had already been a poor situation in terms of chronic disease – and particularly for mental health and heart disease – as healthcare programmes were either repurposed or postponed during the pandemic.

Lifestyle changes during the COVID-19 pandemic have also contributed to an increase in rates of obesity.  In a recent World Health Organisation study, it was found that overweight and obesity have reached 'epidemic proportions' in Europe, with the UK now second only to Malta in rates of obesity.

Join Dr Rodrigo Rodriguez-Fernandez, Global Health Advisor, Wellness and Mental Health, and Dr Stuart Scott, Medical Director, Scotland, as they look at the effects of the pandemic on chronic disease, how this has affected our clients' workforce, and what organisations can do to assist in keeping their people healthy.
